Josh Alsip, VP Regional Engagement At the West Central Indiana Partnership, our work is driven by people who are deeply committed to the communities they serve. One of those leaders is Josh Alsip, Vice President of Regional Engagement, whose passion for collaboration and community building helps move our region forward every day. A Background Rooted in Community Engagement Josh holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Indiana State University and brings a strong background in community and regional development to the WCIP. Before joining the Partnership, he served as Director of Community Engagement at the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce and before that as Community Engagement Manager with the Indiana Destination Development Corporation. These roles allowed him to work closely with local leaders, businesses and organizations to strengthen communities and elevate regional identity, experience he now brings to the WCIP. His Role at WCIP As Vice President of Regional Engagement, Josh works closely with business leaders, community stakeholders, nonprofit organizations and elected officials to position West Central Indiana as a competitive, connected and vibrant region. His responsibilities include guiding the implementation of community and regional plans, supporting Main Street and Downtown initiatives, advancing talent attraction and retention strategies, promoting regional quality of life efforts and overseeing regional data collection. What He Loves Most About WCIP For Josh, the most rewarding part of working at WCIP has been getting to know the people who make West Central Indiana special. “I truly believe our work is much bigger than any one person or single initiative. The real impact comes from people coming together as a united front," said Josh. Building relationships with leaders and residents across the region has been especially meaningful, and Josh’s love for the region begins with the people who call it home. A Standout Success in 2025 Josh points to the inaugural Regional Summit as one of WCIP’s biggest successes in 2025. Hosted in partnership with the Wabash River Regional Development Authority, the event brought together more than 100 leaders from all five counties to celebrate the unveiling of the We Are West Central brand and the Regional Pact. With more than 100 signatures now on the Pact, the Summit marked a major step toward stronger regional unity. Looking ahead to 2026, Josh is excited to build on this momentum with new initiatives that further strengthen collaboration across West Central Indiana. What He Wishes People Knew About WCIP Josh wants people to understand that the impact of WCIP comes from a shared commitment to the region. “Every member of our team is driven by our mission and dedicated to achieving our objectives, knowing that real progress happens when a region comes together as one," stated Josh. Favorites Around the Region When it comes to regional events, Josh’s favorite is the Clinton Little Italy Festival, a celebration of the area’s Italian and coal mining heritage. The event holds special meaning for him because it is where his daughter rode her very first miniature Ferris wheel. Choosing a favorite local business is no easy task, but Josh gives special recognition to the local retail scene in Parke County. While the Covered Bridge Festival draws national attention each fall, he appreciates the creative shops that support the county throughout the year, including G and M Variety, Rusted Root Co. and The Clay Plant. He and his wife, Emily, enjoy visiting these shops and supporting them whenever possible. Let’s Connect! Josh believes strongly in collaboration and keeps his door open to new ideas and partnerships.
