Our Process
Who is leading this initiative?
This initiative was established by the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
What is the purpose of West Central Partnership?
To create an action-oriented network of individuals and groups who are familiar with each other’s regional assets, seeking collaborative partnerships and ready to quickly seize opportunities that will represent West Central Indiana at local, state and national levels. Specific results could include:
- More realistic long-term planning with better understanding of available resources
- Increased political and economic development influence
- Funding opportunities for collaborative projects
- An action plan to meet our common goals as a unified group
How will the individuals from around the region connect? What actions will they take?
Starting with the first group meeting in early 2018, partners in the initiative connect periodically through scheduled meetings and individual opportunities. Through these periodic meetings, the group will identify common strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and create an action plan to capitalize on these assets as a region. In between physical meetings, the group will stay connected by sharing regional opportunities via email and attending events. Individual collaborations among group members are strongly encouraged.
Who is invited to participate?
Any group in the West Central Indiana region, and neighboring Illinois counties, that is interested in exploring ways we can partner, is welcome to participate. This may include Chambers of Commerce, Convention and Tourism agencies, Community Foundations, Economic Development entities and elected officials. Separate focus groups will be held for business and non-profit leaders with an interest in regional collaboration.
How is this different from other regional collaborations?
Born from the ever-growing need to create a region that is inviting and open to business growth and development, West Central 2025 serves to position us for economic success. Members of this group will need to be responsive and ready to quickly respond to common needs of regional partners.
