City of Sullivan Awarded $6.3 Million in CDBG - Disaster Recovery Funds, Seeking Public Input

On the evening of March 31, 2023, the community of Sullivan was forever changed. An EF-3 tornado tore through Sullivan, damaging and destroying homes, businesses and public infrastructure. The City of Sullivan will be awarded $6.3 million in Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funding. This funding is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to invest in Sullivan County’s quality of life. Mayor JD Wilson is asking the public to attend a public input meeting on August 19, 2026, at the Sullivan Civic Center at 6pm. This meeting will provide an overview of the CDBG-DR program and share what kinds of projects that are eligible for funding. The meeting is also an opportunity to offer ideas, questions and concerns.
