City of Sullivan to Receive Donated Bridge for Park Area

A future infrastructure project in Sullivan is expected to make it easier and safer for residents to travel between some of the city’s most-used recreational areas. The City has reached an agreement to receive a steel bridge that is being removed as part of a state road project near Graysville. Once relocated, the bridge will provide a pedestrian connection between the Civic Center, athletic facilities and city park, offering an alternative to crossing Silver Street. The bridge is anticipated to arrive in 2028. Additional details will be released as the project progresses, including plans for a community bridge-naming contest for local youth.
