Turning regional planning into action

The West Central Indiana Regional Plan is implemented through collaboration among organizations, businesses and leaders across Clay, Parke, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo counties. Community partners help transform shared priorities into action by supporting initiatives, coordinating investments and advancing projects that strengthen economic opportunity and quality of life throughout the region.

Regional collaboration allows organizations to align resources and pursue solutions that no single community could accomplish alone. Through partnerships across the public, private, nonprofit and education sectors, West Central Indiana continues to build momentum around shared goals related to workforce development, housing, infrastructure, child care and quality of place.

The West Central Indiana Partnership works alongside community partners to help coordinate these efforts, strengthen regional relationships and support implementation of the shared vision outlined in the West Central Indiana Regional Plan. Together, partners across the region are helping build a stronger, more connected future for West Central Indiana.

The Value of Regional Collaboration

Many of the most significant challenges facing West Central Indiana, including housing availability, workforce development, infrastructure investment, economic opportunity and quality of life, are regional in nature and therefore require regional solutions and coordinated action.

By working together, partners across West Central Indiana can achieve outcomes that would be difficult to accomplish independently. Collaboration allows partners to:

  • Align strategies and resources around shared priorities

  • Pursue state and federal funding opportunities that require regional coordination

  • Reduce duplication of effort and strengthen the impact of community investments

  • Build relationships across sectors that support long-term progress

  • Strengthen the region’s competitiveness for economic investment
